CIDAN FX combi folding machine is the strongest in its class – powerful, precise, and indestructible. Equipped with fully welded side frames, a powerful upper beam, and a robust lower beam, it is optimized for maximum stability, low maintenance costs, and trouble-free operation year after year.



Provides precision and flexibility with short cycle times
Both the bending beam and the upper beam have dual-sided drive. CIDAN back gauge concept with spring steel back gauge fingers and the market’s narrowest bending beam provides precision and flexibility even with very small back gauge dimensions, while the fast back gauge movements result in short cycle times.
The straight rail is divided into 3-5 segments, which simplifies changes and lowers replacement costs in case of damage. With the combi beam found on the FX, it takes only 6.3 seconds to rotate from the straight rail to the segmented tools.
The combi beam provides increased flexibility, allowing nearly all profiles to be bent. The generous opening height of 150 mm applies to both the combi beam and the straight rail. The large notches in the beams also significantly simplify bending, especially when you need to account for end panels.

nuLink CNC control system
The FX includes the nuLink control system and a 21,5″ touchscreen.
The nuLink software is developed for CIDAN folders by CIDAN.

Interactive graphic pictures are shown to the operator with instructions like rotate or flip the part, a condition to correctly being able to produce complicated details.
Every bend line is shown with the selected tooling and its bending situation.

In the CNC control you can store a large amount of programs.
Every program can be saved with a graphical icon and name and can be easily found in the library again.

Folding & simulation
nuLink automatically calculates cut size and creates a program where the finished part is shown with its actual folding sequence. Every program can be saved with a graphical icon with name and information. If the machine is equipped with such features the ProLink may also control adjustment of sheet thickness, crowning of folding beam rail, adjustment of folding center, and combi beam rotation.

Box Design and 3D Capabilities
nuLink includes a smart box generator that makes it easy to create boxes. With the various options in the generator, you can design many different types of boxes completely from scratch

In the control system, you can also work with a wide range of corner designs, which the operator can easily adjust directly in the program during the design process. This provides great flexibility and contributes to both higher quality and more efficient production.

Adjustable screen
The touch screen is either mounted on a rotatable axle, or on a pendant arm that can be rotated for optimal viewing. It is also possible to turn the screen to the gauging side of the machine when folding large details.

Combi beam – rotable upper beam
With the combi beam, which you find on the FX , it takes only 6.3 seconds to rotate from the straight rail to the segmented tools. The combi beam provides increased flexibility, allowing nearly all profiles to be bent. The opening height of 5.98″ (150 mm) applies to both the combi beam and the straight rail.

XSPACE – More space, more profiles
CIDAN XSPACE (option) gives you far greater freedom to design and fold your profiles. XSPACE is the folding beam with an indented angle below the folding point giving you extra space around the tools.

CIDAN XSPACE gives you far greater freedom to design and fold your profiles. XSPACE is the folding beam with an indented angle below the folding point giving you extra space around the tools. You can now easily make profiles that were previously difficult or impossible to fold and without risk of collisions. The .59″ (15mm) extra space from point of clamping to folding blade is bolted on, allows you to dream up many profiles other than hat channel, ridge cap, box gutter, or high pitch eave trim. There is no need to “force” the material into the machine, ergonomics are improved and safety increased. You get higher precision with no effort. All the machine’s features function as normal. The XSPACE-beam is of course equipped with crowning for zero angle deviations for long profiles. All machines in the FX-series can be equipped with XSPACE and there are two folding blades as standard, .393″ (10mm) and .98″ (25mm). Folding blade .472″ (12mm) is an option. Enjoy greater freedom with extra space around the folding beam, XSPACE gives you all the space you need.

Big cut-outs in the beams
1.9″ (49 mm) in height and 2.2″ (57 mm) in width, significantly simplify bending, especially when you need to account for end panels.

Opening height
The machine offers very generous spaces. The opening height of 5.98″ (150 mm) and the large cut-outs in the beams, 1.9″ (49 mm) in height and 2.2″ (57 mm) in width, provide great flexibility. The height behind the straight rail is also ample to accommodate already bent parts.

Motorized backgauge BASIC
The backgauge is designed to position the material so that exact measurements are achieved on the folded part.
BASIC backgauge
The BASIC backgauge is a cost effective back gauge without the customization capabilities of the optional FLEXIBLE backgauge system. Designed specifically for the F, FS and FX, the first row gauge stop are made of tempered spring steel as standard. The 2nd row of gauges are solid stops. Staggered gauging across the length of the machine makes small parts gauging possible on either side and 2 sets in middle of the back gauge, allow 2 splice plates to be formed at one time. The backgauge has one servo motor and belt drives on both sides and it takes two seconds to get an exact position between .12″–41.34″ (3 and 1050 mm). All the gauge stop can drop down automatically to avoid collision when the material needs to be rotated on the table. Ball transfers and manual conical gauge are available as options.

This backgauge is just as the name indicates, flexible, and expandable up to 165″ (4200 mm) working depth via modules. The base unit has a depth of 61″ (1550 mm).

This backgauge is just as the name indicates, flexible, and expandable up to 165″ (4200 mm) working depth via modules. The base unit has a depth of 6″ (1550 mm). The modules then make it possible to change a standard FLEXIBLE to an L-, J-, T- or U-shaped format from scratch or as needed. The modular system enables a variety of combinations of backgauge tables, so today a tailored backgauge is quite possible. The back gauge is equipped with dual servo motors, ball screws and linear guides for maximum precision. All positions will be exactly the same, time after time. FLEXIBLE backgauge are supplied as standard with 12, 14 or 16 gauging rails, depending on the length of the machine. The backgauge speed enables the productivity to increase and at the same time, decreases the costs of your forming operation. The front stop units are made of spring steel as standard. The stop units can be dropped down automatically in every program row, which prevents any collision with the stop units when the sheets needs to be rotated.

The safety scanner provides extra safety with two modes when operating machine from folding side or gauging side. The scanner prohibits any person to enter the working area where a collision with the folding beam is possible.

XTAP – conical bending
CIDAN FLEXIBLE is our new backgauge that is now available with angled gauge positioning for conical bending, XTAP. With a back gauge fitted with XTAP gauge, positions can be set automatically using the ProLink control system – perfect for fast and efficient production of cappings and other details without parallel sides or for profiles with easy and optimal overlap and no trimming. Just enter your values in the ProLink control system and your profiles will have perfect angles and results totally automatically! Faster, smarter and what is more, with higher quality all included!

Moveable foot pedal on rail
Allows the operator to move the foot pedal quickly and smoothly along the folding area. Appropriate when folding is done with several folding stations. Especially recommended if the machine is equipped with Multifold. This option is considered a great safety feature when bolted to the floor. When operator engages foot pedal, they are away from the upcoming folding beam.

CIDAN backgauge can also be equipped with two special fingers for conical bending. These adjustable fingers are placed at the edges of the back gauge and facilitate manual conical bending.

Tool cart
Safely store the divided tooling for your CIDAN folder. The tool cart is recommended to decrease the risk of damaging tools and misplacing tools during tool changing. It is possible to store divided rails on the cart and there is room for hand tools for the operators and machine instruction manual. The cart is equipped with lockable wheels and pull handles. Especially recommended if the machine is equipped with the Multifold tooling system.
